CHANGES TO OUR ACCEPTED ENGLISH QUALIFICATIONS IN RESPONSE TO THE CORONAVIRUS
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused exceptional disruption to international applicants, with schools, universities and English Language testing centres closed for months in many countries. As such, Swansea University has temporarily extended our list of accepted qualifications to include the following qualifications for entry up to and including the 22/23 academic year only.

IELTS Indicator Test
Swansea University will accept the same scores in the IELTS Indicator Test as for the IELTS Academic Test for entry up to and including the 22/23 academic year to all programmes delivered at Swansea.
TOEFL at-home test
Swansea University will accept the same scores in the TOEFL at-home test as for the TOEFL iBT for entry up to and including the 22/23 academic year to all programmes delivered at Swansea.
SWELT
The Swansea English Language Test (SWELT) is ideal if you are looking for an alternative to IELTS as fulfilment of your English Language entry requirement. Please note that SWELT can only be used for entry to Swansea University, you can register online but places are limited.
LanguageCert online
Swansea University will accept LanguageCert online test scores for entry on to pre-sessional programmes. The pre-sessional programme you are eligible for will depend on the specific course requirement as well as your LanguageCert score:

Swansea University will accept CET test scores for entry on to pre-sessional programmes only. The pre-sessional programme you are eligible for will depend on the specific course requirement as well as your CET score:
For academic year 2022/23 entry, Swansea University will accept:
CET-6, 490+ and 10 week pre-sessional
CET-6, 450-489 and 12-week pre-sessional
CET-4, 600+ and 10 week pre-sessional
CET-4, 570-599+ and 12 week pre-sessional
N.B. Students successfully completing a 12 week pre-sessional will be eligible for entry to programmes with a 6.0 IELTS requirement only.
Students applying for programmes with a 6.5 requirement must follow a 10 week pre-sessional.
TOEFL IPT Plus for China
Swansea University will accept the following scores for entry up to and including the 22/23 academic year:
