The Anatomy of Stroke

A stroke is caused by something blocking the blood supply to part of the brain. Often, clots pass to the brain from the heart and large arteries, but how do they get there, where do they go, and why does this cause the symptoms that we see? What's the most likely route that blood clots will take? What do we look out for?

Meet Anthony...

“The course is very challenging, and it should be, as the responsibilities of a paramedic are great. However, I enjoyed the fact the course pushed me, developed me and provided the core skills needed for the job. There are many qualities a good paramedic needs to possess and top of the list is the ability to remain calm and in control of any situation. This is achieved through excellent communication skills... If you can communicate clearly then you can help those that need it. I now work in Pembrokeshire as a Paramedic and have a role in the Army Reserves as a Defence Paramedic.”
