• MN-1525 Enterprise and Creativity: Entrepreneurship in Practice

  This module aims to provide an introduction for learners to: (a) the practice of becoming entrepreneurial; (b) Using creativity and creative thinking to generate and develop opportunities (c) the development of entrepreneurial ways of thinking and doing; and, (d) the exploitation of opportunities in the achievement of value. This practical course will help learners to develop their own ideas and pursue personal achievement by developing and delivering a project that will make a difference in their communities. The module focuses on the underpinning and fundamental requisites for innovation, new venture creation and successful commercialisation ¿ the entrepreneurial mindset, skills and behaviours of individuals who are seeking to create their own futures and make a difference in their world. It emphasises the importance of developing new ways of thinking and doing; the need for self-reliance and self-belief; the capacity for identifying needs and problems and seeing them as challenges and opportunities; the ability to take action, execute solutions, manage risk and failure and take responsibility for the consequences.

  Nod y modiwl trawsddisgyblaethol generig hwn yw rhoi cyflwyniad i ddysgwyr i: (a) yr arfer o fod yn entrepreneuraidd; (b) defnyddio creadigrwydd a meddwl yn greadigol i greu a datblygu cyfleoedd; (c) datblygu ffyrdd entrepreneuraidd o feddwl a gwneud; ac, (ch) manteisio ar gyfleoedd wrth gyflawni gwerth. Bydd y cwrs ymarferol hwn yn helpu dysgwyr i ddatblygu eu syniadau eu hunain a dilyn cyflawniad personol trwy ddatblygu a chyflwyno prosiect a fydd yn gwneud gwahaniaeth yn eu cymunedau. • MN-3000 Final Year Project

  This module serves as the capstone course for the BSc Business Management programme. The module allows students to undertake in-depth and applied research on an academic or practical topic of their choosing.

• MN-3572 Enterprise Life Cycle

  Enterprises are often referred to as being `born¿ or `dying¿, being `early¿ or `mature`. Much of management theory derives from the study of two stages. The mature, large firms or enterprise start-up. This module will investigate the ways in which the life stages of the enterprise influence the ways in which we can apply theories or practice to them. This module will enable learners to critically analyse an enterprise using the full panoply of theories and practices from entrepreneurship and management and apply these to enterprises at different stages in their lifecycle as well as to diagnose when an enterprise is moving between these stages and to use this in order to inform strategy and its execution. Throughout the module, critical evaluation of theory will be complemented by real life cases, the methods of evaluating them as well as the skills and behaviours required by those whose role is to work in and/or support enterprises. This module is suitable for any student with an ambition to work with enterprises. Whether small, medium or large, whether in the private or public sector, an enterprise is `any entity taking part in an economic activity¿. This module will allows students to conceptualise how the theory, skills and behaviours introduced from their previous modules can be applied to enterprises in practice.
