Get your questions answered and prepare for University with our new virtual events.

Designed for students in years 11 to 13, we will be offering sessions to ensure you have all the support information you need to begin your journey to University. The sessions will include live presentations from staff and will give you the opportunity to have any questions answered.

We will also be offering subject-specific taster sessions, podcasts and presentations to help you decide which course may be right for you.

Parent / Guardian / Teacher / Adviser - These sessions are also open to you should you wish to attend and learn more.

Why Higher Education?

This session will be held on Monday 14th September at 3pm
Duration: 1hour

This session is aimed at students who would like to find out more about going to university. It explores the wide range of courses available to study and offers advice on how to choose what to study at university. There will also be an opportunity to ask our team any questions that you may have about going to university.

The UCAS Application Process

This session will be held on Tuesday 15th September at 3pm
Duration: 1hour

This session is aimed at students looking to start university in September 2021 and is as an introduction to all aspects of the application process. There will also be an opportunity to ask our team any questions that you may have about applying to university.

Personal Statement advice

This session will be held on Wednesday 16th September at 3pm
Duration: 1hour

This session discusses what admissions tutors are looking for in a personal statement, common mistakes to avoid and how you can make the most of your strengths and experiences. There will also be an opportunity to ask our team any questions that you may have about writing your personal statement.

Student life at university

This session will be held on Thursday 17th September at 3pm
Duration: 30 minutes

This session provides students with an honest perspective covering all aspects of student life including academic life, social life, time management and paid work or volunteering.

UCAS Application Process and Personal Statement (Welsh-medium Session)

Wednesday 23rd September at 2pm only
Length: 1 hour

This Welsh-medium session is aimed at students who want to start university in September 2021 and is an introduction to all aspects of the application process. The session will also discuss what admissions tutors look for in a personal statement, common mistakes to avoid and how you can make the most of your strengths and experiences.

Please note that during the sessions we restrict your audio and video so you can just listen to the speaker during presentations. You can ask questions using the chat function at the end of the presentation.
